Microsoft has started rolling out the beta version of Gaming Copilot on Windows 11 PCs. The AI-powered assistant, described as a “personal gaming sidekick,” is available for users aged 18 and older, excluding those in mainland China.

The feature will also expand beyond PC, with Microsoft confirming that Gaming Copilot will arrive on the Xbox mobile app for iOS and Android in October.

On Windows, players can access Gaming Copilot through the Game Bar by installing the Xbox PC app and pressing Windows key + G. The Copilot icon can then be found in the Home Bar, where users log in with their Xbox account to start using it.

Gaming Copilot supports Voice Mode, allowing players to ask for help with in-game tasks, receive recommendations for new titles, check achievements, or review play history. Microsoft said the goal is to give players real-time insights and guidance while gaming.

For those who prefer not to use it, Gaming Copilot can be removed from the widget list by going into Game Bar settings.

The feature was first tested in May under the name Copilot for Gaming, with early trials on iOS and Android. It later expanded to Xbox Insiders enrolled in the PC Gaming Preview in August.

The launch is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to bring AI features to more users across its ecosystem. In recent months, the company has introduced AI-powered updates to Windows 11 File Explorer, rolled out Copilot Chat to Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and Outlook, and added free AI text features to Notepad on Copilot+ PCs.

How to enable Gaming Copilot on Windows 11:

  • Install the Xbox PC app on your computer.
  • Press Windows key + G to open the Game Bar.
  • Look for the Gaming Copilot icon in the Home Bar.
  • Open the widget and log in with your Xbox account.
  • Start using Copilot with either text or Voice Mode.
