Ragnarok Online 3 recently wrapped up its first Pioneer Test on September 13, and the developers wasted no time responding to the community’s biggest concern: pay-to-win.
During the test, some players raised questions about whether spending money in the game would give premium players an unfair advantage. In their official statement, the devs promised they will never allow a system where paying players dominate those who play for free. They stressed that true competition should come from skill and dedication, not from how much money someone can spend.
The team explained that the real challenge is resisting the temptation to turn the game into a “cash grab.” They clarified that monthly passes and optional payments are not the problem, but these should never replace balance and fair play. According to them, payments should only come from players who genuinely enjoy the game, not from those forced to spend just to keep up.
Showing their commitment, the devs even encouraged players to directly message them on Discord if they ever feel the game is sliding toward unfair monetization. One developer even joked that they would be the first to riot if fairness was ignored.
This bold response shows that Ragnarok Online 3 is aiming to build a long-term community where enjoyment comes first. While the issue of monetization is always tricky in online games, the devs’ pledge gives players hope that RO3 will stay true to its roots and respect both free and paying adventurers.

Every Ragnarok game has this system. Stop lying and just be transparent with people.
