Microsoft is reportedly developing an update for its Xbox app that will allow users to view and access their game libraries from platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store. Originally a PS5 blockbuster, the game’s PC version will be available via Steam and the Epic Games Store, following Sony’s ongoing trend of bringing its top-tier exclusives to the PC platform. Listed at $49.99 in the Epic Games Store, the upcoming PC port of Red Dead Redemption is priced almost as much as a brand-new release, despite originally launching back in 2010. Epic Games has announced plans to bring its popular free games program to mobile devices by the end of 2024, expanding beyond its current PC offerings. According to Steve Allison, general manager at Epic Games, the company plans to launch up to 50 games on its mobile app store by year's end. One of the first titles expected to debut is Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition, signaling Epic's commitment to delivering high-quality games to mobile users. While this expansion is an exciting development for mobile gamers, Allison noted that Epic Games is still working on a payment solution for the platform, which could slightly delay the full rollout.
