A new James Bond video game is on the way, and this time it will tell the origin story of the world’s most famous spy. Titled 007 First Light, the game is being developed by IO Interactive in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios and Delphi, with a worldwide release set for March 27, 2026.
The big reveal came with its first gameplay trailer, showing fans a glimpse of a younger and more reckless Bond. Irish actor Patrick Gibson, known for his roles in Dexter: Original Sin and The OA, has been chosen to voice and bring the young James Bond to life through motion capture.
According to the game’s description, 007 First Light will be a story-driven action-adventure where players follow Bond as a rookie in MI6’s training program. The game promises thrilling missions, espionage, and character-driven storytelling that will explore how Bond grew into the secret agent we all know today.
The cast includes Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny, Lennie James as Bond’s mentor John Greenway, and Noemie Nakai as Miss Roth.
When it comes to editions, the standard version of the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Store) for $69.99. There’s also a physical-only Specialist Edition for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, while the Legacy Edition collector’s package will cost $299.99.
With Bond’s fresh start in gaming, fans can look forward to a mix of stealth, action, and storytelling when 007 First Light launches next year.
