High on Life 2 is upping the craziness of its comedy shooter world, not just with new weapons and characters, but also by sneaking in fully playable retro games. According to Squanch Games’ Mikey Spano and Matty Studivan, the sequel will feature “more than five” emulated titles, with the surprising inclusion of Bible Adventures.
The first High on Life stood out for hiding full-length movies inside the game, giving players something unexpected to discover. The sequel looks to take this concept further by offering classic games that can be played directly in-game. Spano even confirmed that the version of Bible Adventures included is fully licensed, making it the only legal way to play it in 2025.
During a gameplay demo at Gamescom 2025, fans got a sneak peek of how this works. At one point, players encounter Senator Muppy Doo, voiced by Richard Kind, who shrinks himself and enters the player’s menu. That’s where Bible Adventures can be found, and Spano hinted that this is just one of several retro surprises waiting to be uncovered.
While Squanch hasn’t revealed the full list of titles, the promise of “more than five” playable games has fans speculating what other oddball classics could appear. Combined with new sci-fi guns, wilder characters, and a bigger cast, High on Life 2 looks like it’s doubling down on the humor and unpredictability that made the first game a hit.
With this mix of offbeat storytelling and hidden retro gems, the sequel seems set to deliver even more reasons for players to explore every corner of its weird universe.
