Singapore’s Paper Rex have once again proven themselves kings of the Pacific after beating Indonesia’s Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) 3-1 in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 Grand Finals on Sunday, August 31. With the win, Paper Rex lock in the Pacific region’s first seed at VALORANT Champions 2025, while RRQ secure the second.

Paper Rex’s journey was smooth compared to RRQ’s uphill battle. The Singaporean squad dominated Group Omega with a 4-1 record and powered through the upper bracket playoffs with sweeps over T1 and Talon Esports. Meanwhile, RRQ fought their way up from the lower bracket, eliminating Gen.G, DRX, T1, and Talon in a marathon run to the final.

The series opened on Bind, where Paper Rex jumped ahead 10-3 by halftime. RRQ rallied but couldn’t close the gap, with PRX winning 13-8. Ilya “Something” Petrov earned MVP honors for his impact plays. On Ascent, PRX played with ruthless aggression, taking an 11-1 half. RRQ clawed back some rounds, but PRX closed 13-7, with Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto shining as MVP.

RRQ struck back on Lotus, matching PRX in the first half before pulling away in the second. Strong plays from Cong “crazyguy” Anh Ngo and Jemkin, who was named MVP, secured a 13-6 win for the Indonesian side.

On Haven, Paper Rex regained their composure, taking an 8-4 lead at halftime. RRQ tried to rally but PRX held firm, finishing 13-7 to win the series 3-1. The victory gave Paper Rex the Stage 2 championship title, $100,000 USD in prize money, and their third VCT Pacific crown. Something was also recognized as the Grand Finals MVP.

Despite falling short, RRQ’s remarkable lower bracket run earned them second place, $65,000 USD, and the region’s second seed at Champions 2025.

The finals reinforced Southeast Asia’s growing dominance in Valorant, with two regional teams now heading into the world’s biggest stage with serious momentum.
