Twitch to start selling PC games and in-game content

Popular video game streaming site, Twitch, will soon capitalize on PC games and other in-game content.

The idea was first announced earlier this year and it’ll now be operational sometime this week. Twitch will offer incentives to entice users to buy from the site. Games costing $4.99 or more is bundled with a free Twitch Crate that includes an assortment of items that can be used on its site while watching streams.

There will be around 50 titles and in-game content at launch including Ubisoft’s For Honor and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands; Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead and Minecraft: Story Mode; Hi-Rez Studios’ SMITE and Paladins; Paradox Interactive’s Tyranny; Trion Worlds’ Atlas Reactor; Double Fine Productions’ Broken Age and Psychonauts; Campo Santo’s Firewatch; Jackbox Games’ Jackbox Party Pack 3; and Digital Extremes’ Warframe, among others.

Of course, Partnered streamers will earn a small percentage of the sales from their channel with the game publisher owning 70% of revenue. The games are available through the Twitch Desktop App.
