The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Stage 2 Finals is turning into a historic moment for Southeast Asia. Jake Sin, head of Valorant Esports for Asia Pacific, praised the rise of SEA teams. The all-Southeast Asian finals put the spotlight firmly on the region, marking a new era in Valorant esports where diversity and unpredictability are driving the competition forward. In addition to the game's launch, Riot is also introducing VALORANT Mobile to the esports scene. This event is part of a strategic partnership with smartphone manufacturer OnePlus, which will serve as the official hardware partner for VALORANT Mobile esports competitions. The 2026 Asian Games is taking esports to the next level, officially announcing eleven titles as medalled events in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. For the first time in Asian Games history, an official martial arts team competition will be part of the esports lineup, marking a major step in merging traditional sports themes with digital competition. By 2022, the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, elevated esports to official medalled status for the first time.
