Online tactical shooter game Rainbow Six Siege is reportedly coming to mobile phones soon as its developer Ubisoft is in collaboration with Tencent's gaming platform WeGame. Last year, rumors circulated about the possibility of having Rainbow Six Siege for mobile when leaks revealed Ubisoft conducting a survey targeted for mobile players. The game Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is derived from Tom Clancy's 1998 techno-thriller novel Rainbow Six. It is the latest in the video game franchise that was spawned from the novel until the release of Rainbow Six Extraction last January. First launched in 2015, Rainbow Six Siege has since reported having over 70 million registered players globally. To recall, Ubisoft pursued in 2020 a lawsuit involving Area F2, an alleged clone of Rainbox Six Siege developed by Qookka Games, a subsidiary of Chinese entertainment company Ejoy. Ubisoft has officially teased Siege X, a major transformation for Rainbow Six Siege, promising a new era of tactical gameplay, graphical and audio overhauls, and more. While some fans speculated about a possible Rainbow Six Siege 2, Ubisoft has clarified that this is not a sequel, but a massive upgrade designed to propel the game into its second decade of live service.
