Microsoft is continuing its push to make Xbox gaming more accessible than ever—this time by bringing the Xbox app to LG smart TVs. Starting today, owners of select LG TVs can stream Xbox games directly from the cloud, no console required. The Xbox app is now available on LG’s 2022 OLED TVs, select 2023 smart TVs, and newer models equipped with webOS24 or higher. Users simply need to download the Xbox app from the LG Content Store, connect a Bluetooth-enabled controller, and subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to jump into a growing library of cloud-enabled titles. This rollout follows Microsoft’s earlier expansion onto Samsung smart TVs, and it's part of the company’s broader vision to turn every screen into an Xbox. The Xbox TV app allows for a near-console experience, offering high-quality visuals and responsive gameplay over the cloud—ideal for gamers who don’t own a physical Xbox console. For the latest 2025 LG models, including new OLEDs and gaming monitors, the Xbox app is integrated directly into the LG Gaming Portal, providing seamless access right out of the box. Meanwhile, for 2022 and 2023 models, users may need to update their firmware before the app becomes fully functional.
