Riot Games Philippines is revving up the local esports scene once again as it officially announces the return of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open for its second season — and this year promises to be even wilder. The grassroots tournament for League of Legends: Wild Rift kicks off with registration for Split 1 starting May 10, featuring a significantly boosted prize pool of ₱1.5 million and a competitive roadmap spanning from Q2 to Q4 of 2025. Building on the success of its debut season, Wild Rounds: Pilipinas is Riot’s initiative to strengthen the local Wild Rift ecosystem, empowering amateur and regional players to rise through the ranks. Joel Guzman, Country Manager for Riot Games Philippines, emphasized that this year’s Wild Rounds is about sustaining Riot’s commitment to its growing Wild Rift communities across the country. Beyond the main competition, Riot PH is expanding its grassroots presence through a series of activations, including: Wild Rift Wednesdays – A weekly community stream launched in April that brings together fans and popular creators for casual games and spotlights. Adding more fuel to the hype, Wild Rounds: Smash — Riot’s special all-star invitational — is also returning this year. Riot is also gearing up for the 5th anniversary of Wild Rift in October.
