Based on 1.5 million searches on online shopping platforms across the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, the Nintendo Switch is the most popular gaming console. From mid-March till mid-April, interests for the Nintendo Switch has increased by 245%, which was 1.6 times more than the PS4. Nintendo is sticking to its decision on the price of the new Switch 2, even after being asked if it’s too pricey for younger gamers. In response, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa explained that while the Switch 2 is more expensive than older consoles, it offers better features and a more exciting gaming experience. Nintendo is making strategic moves to ensure the successful domestic launch of its highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. The original Nintendo Switch enjoyed remarkable popularity in Japan, and it’s clear that Nintendo wants to replicate—and even surpass—that success with its successor. However, Nintendo is bumping this margin up to 5% for the Switch 2. Additionally, Nintendo is introducing a special Japan-exclusive model of the Switch 2 at a lower price point.
