Nintendo is making strategic moves to ensure the successful domestic launch of its highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. The original Nintendo Switch enjoyed remarkable popularity in Japan, and it’s clear that Nintendo wants to replicate—and even surpass—that success with its successor. According to Bloomberg, Nintendo is providing Japanese retailers with an unusually attractive wholesale deal. However, Nintendo is bumping this margin up to 5% for the Switch 2. Additionally, Nintendo is introducing a special Japan-exclusive model of the Switch 2 at a lower price point.
