Microsoft is reportedly developing an update for its Xbox app that will allow users to view and access their game libraries from platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store. ​ The development came to light when Microsoft briefly published a blog post titled "Opening a Billion Doors with Xbox," which included an image of a new Xbox user interface (UI). ​ Sources familiar with Microsoft's plans indicate that the company is in the early stages of updating the Xbox app to display all games installed on a user's PC, regardless of the platform they were purchased from. This move aligns with Microsoft's broader strategy to unify the Xbox and Windows platforms, enhancing cross-platform play and accessibility. By integrating third-party game libraries, Microsoft aims to position the Xbox app as a central hub for PC gaming, simplifying the user experience.
