LG announced earlier this year that it will make the Google cloud gaming service Stadia available. The Google Stadia features several games like Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Hitman 3, Baldur’s Gate 3, and other demos and free games that are made playable with a compatible controller without any download required. The app interface mirrors what players have come to expect from Xbox Cloud Gaming on browsers and mobile—quick navigation, personalized game suggestions, and the full Game Pass Ultimate library. With smart TVs becoming increasingly common, especially among tech-savvy gamers, the decision to bring cloud gaming to these devices helps lower the barrier to entry for high-end gaming experiences. As the cloud gaming market continues to grow, Microsoft’s Xbox TV app could become a central piece in redefining how players access and interact with video games. Google has announced at the Game Developers Conference (GDC 2019) a new video game platform called Stadia that allows users to stream and play games on any device that supports the Chromecast protocol. Google Stadia boasts instant access to games as long as it supports Chromecast so it can be your laptop, desktop, tablet, smartphone, or TV. Google said that Stadia will make games available in resolutions up to 4K and 60fps with HDR and surround sound.
