Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is gearing up for its biggest update of the year. On September 17, MOONTON Games will launch Project NEXT 2025, introducing massive changes to the Land of Dawn that will make every match feel new and unpredictable.
Project NEXT is MLBB’s yearly upgrade that improves the game with hero adjustments, balance tweaks, and exciting gameplay features. This year, the spotlight is on the Annual Map Change, which introduces four brand-new battlefield versions that are set to shake up strategies for all players.
The first is Dangerous Grass, where tall bushes now cover key spots like the Lord’s pit and the Mid Lane. These extra hiding spots give heroes such as Eudora and Saber more chances to ambush enemies. Next is Broken Walls, a redesigned map filled with shortcuts that change how players move around the battlefield. Mobility heroes like Johnson can chase more aggressively, while less mobile heroes get safer escape options.
The third, Flying Cloud, adds a special platform near the base. Respawning heroes can use it to hover for five seconds, allowing quicker defenses or surprise team fights. Lastly, Expanding Rivers makes the river flow stronger, giving heroes without dash skills an extra speed boost for rotations or escapes.
On top of these map updates, a new hero is joining the roster. Obsidia, a marksman from the Shadow Abyss, makes her debut as the latest powerful addition to the game.
According to Arnold Xie, MLBB’s Lead Developer, this update is meant to redefine how players approach every battle while keeping the game fun and accessible for everyone.
