Boom Esports kept their championship hopes alive at The International 2025 (TI12) after sweeping Team Nemesis 2-0 in their Group Stage matchup on Saturday morning, Manila time.
The victory ensures that Boom, featuring Filipino stars Armel “Armel” Tabios, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, and Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla, continue their quest for the Aegis of Champions. For Team Nemesis, however, the result sealed their early exit, making them the first squad to bow out of the tournament.
Nemesis’ all-Filipino roster of Erice “Erice” Guerra, Polo “Raven” Fausto, Eljohn “Akashi” Andales, John “Jing” Duyan, and Mc “Mac” Villanueva ended their TI 2025 run with a 0-4 record.
Despite the disappointing finish, Nemesis managed to show flashes of potential during the group stage. They pushed powerhouse teams like Team Falcons and Yakutou Brothers to decisive games, forcing both to work hard for their 2-1 victories. However, losses against Wildcard Gaming (0-2) and now Boom ultimately ended their campaign.
Boom Esports now shifts focus to the next phase of the group stage, aiming to ride their momentum into the playoffs. With seasoned veterans and a hungry lineup, they remain one of Southeast Asia’s biggest hopes for a deep run at Dota 2’s most prestigious tournament.
