Nintendo has announced the upcoming classic games that will be included to the Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) application for this month. 2 was released in 1988 which is the follow up to the Super Mario Bros. As the Switch 2 launch approaches, it will be interesting to see if Nintendo’s tailored approach to the Japanese market will translate into another blockbuster success story. Officially revealed during the highly anticipated Switch 2 Direct event, Mario Kart World is set to launch exclusively alongside the new Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. Nintendo is making a big swing with Donkey Kong’s new look, first spotted in the Mario Kart 9 gameplay showcase during the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal event. Now, with new Donkey Kong merchandise rolling out, it’s clear that Nintendo is fully committing to a fresh design for the beloved ape—one that many say closely resembles his Super Mario Bros.
