Capcom dropped a bomb during Sony's E3 2018 conference as they revealed the release date for the remake of Resident Evil 2. One of the first games of the series that was released for the PS1, just after Resident Evil, was Resident Evil 2. The title is considered to be on of the best games ever released and the most successful Resident Evil game (in terms of sales in a single platform) to date. The Resident Evil 2 remake is set to arrive on January 25, 2019 and will bring players back to Racoon City in the shoes of Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy. This release makes Resident Evil 3 the fifth major Resident Evil title available on Apple devices, following the mobile and Mac versions of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil 2. While no release date has been confirmed, the project is part of Capcom’s broader push into mobile, alongside recent ports of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Village on iOS. Although the studio has not confirmed an official release date, industry insiders speculate that Resident Evil 9 could debut as early as late 2025. One of the classic video games that pioneered the Survival Horror game genre, Resident Evil 2, recently got a remake and is now available for purchase in the Philippines.
