Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Overwatch 2 will be launching on October 4 and will be free-to-play on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Overwatch 2 was first announced in 2019 and is the sequel to Overwatch released in 2016. As a way of thanking original players, the Overwatch 2 Founder’s Pack will be free in-game to all existing players who own Overwatch. To be eligible for the Founder’s Pack, players need to own Overwatch prior to June 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. This includes logging into Overwatch prior to October 4, or logging into Overwatch 2 after launch. Blizzard has just announced through the Overwatch Twitter account that the team-based FPS will be free to play this weekend, February 17 to 20 (converted to Philippine Time). Overwatch gets free weekends a couple of times throughout the year, so if you're not taking the plunge now, it might be a while before you get to do it again. The game will be free to play on all platforms, which are PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
