The mode also offers a return to North Yankton, a location long associated with GTA 5's opening heist involving Trevor and Michael. Player data from GTAO Stats shows that over 400,000 players jumped into the new mode within the first day, and the number has surpassed one million in the days following. According to Rockstar insider Tez2, this player turnout is 270% higher than the previous event, "Assault on ATT-16." The combination of nostalgia for North Yankton and the appeal of zombie survival seems to have hit the perfect note, bringing in massive numbers of GTA Online players.
