Forza Horizon 5 Races to the Top of PS5 Charts Thanks to Xbox

In a surprising twist, an Xbox game is now the best-selling title on the PlayStation 5 in 2025. Forza Horizon 5, originally released in 2021, has sped its way to the top of PS5’s charts after it was made available on Sony’s console last April.

The open-world racing game, set in beautiful Mexico, has long been praised as one of the best racing games ever made. It now holds the record as the highest-selling PS5 game of the year so far, overtaking big names like Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and even Elden Ring: Nightreign. It has sold over 3 million units on PlayStation alone.

Xbox has recently been allowing more of its exclusive games to appear on other platforms. Last year, smaller titles like Grounded and Hi-Fi Rush appeared on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. This year, Xbox went even bigger by releasing hits like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and now Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation.

Even though Forza is leading now, the competition is far from over. Upcoming titles like Ghost of Yotei, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and The Outer Worlds 2 might shake up the rankings before the year ends.
