Discord has initiated testing of a new age verification system in the UK and Australia, requiring users to verify their age through facial scans or government-issued ID to access sensitive content. In Australia, legislation effective from November 2025 will prohibit individuals under 16 from registering on social media platforms, including Discord. Discord's new verification process offers two methods: a facial scan using a webcam or mobile camera, and an ID scan via a QR code link for uploading official identification documents. As Discord navigates these challenges, the company emphasizes its commitment to user safety and compliance with evolving online safety laws. PlayStation is gradually rolling out the ability to link a users' PSN account from Discord and display your Playstation 4 or Playstation 5 game activity in users' game profile. Users can also opt to display their PlayStation Network online ID on their profile so their Discord friends can add and join them in game. In order to connect your Discord account to your PlayStation Network account, users will just open Discord and head into User Setting then connections on either their desktop or on a browser.
