#Destiny alternate timeline game

Developed by NetEase Games, the spinoff sets itself apart with a storyline that unfolds in an alternate timeline—one that exists before the events of the mainline Destiny games. NetEase says the game is designed to welcome newcomers without requiring prior Destiny experience. Set in a prequel-like alternate universe, Destiny: Rising offers a separate narrative foundation while retaining key Destiny lore and mechanics. A new weapon class is also being introduced, expanding the game’s loadout flexibility alongside familiar Destiny staples like Supers and gear mods. While the visuals and moment-to-moment action have been adapted for mobile devices, the gameplay remains rooted in the RPG-shooter hybrid model that defines the Destiny franchise.
