In a closed-door meeting with the game press yesterday, Valve President Gabe Newell revealed the first few details about their upcoming Dota-inspired card game, Artifact. First off, Artifact will feature its own marketplace, much like the one that Dota 2 has, where users can buy and sell in-game goods. So far, Artifact stays true to its name as a MOBA-inspired card game. Pricing and exact release date of Artifact weren't revealed during the sit-down. Sean "Day9" Plott, event host of this year's The International DotA 2 Championships, showed the crowd a teaser video from Valve, which announced Artifact, a digital card game based on Valve's DotA 2. There is little information about the game at the moment, other than a handful of vague information from Day9 himself, which has since been posted on Reddit Comment from discussion Artifact Teaser - New Valve Game. However, for those of you that are not familiar with MTG, here is a quick refresher: In MTG, players take on the role of powerful wizards, known as Planeswalkers, who summon creatures, cast spells, and use artifacts to defeat their opponents.
