The first-person shooter battle royale, Apex Legends, is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 9. Apex Legends is a free-to-play first-person hero shooter battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. The Game Director of Apex Legends, Chad Grenier, has announced that the game will launch on Switch with support for cross-platform play and full feature parity with other versions. Grenier mentioned that the team had achieved some smart optimizations for the Switch port to deliver a full-featured Apex Legends experience. Play Apex Legends is now available for free on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Origin and Steam. Ubisoft appears to be gearing up for a major return to the battle royale arena with a new project that’s reportedly heavily inspired by Apex Legends. According to early sources, Project Scout is Ubisoft’s ambitious attempt to craft a hero-based battle royale shooter, featuring a playable roster of characters with distinct abilities—much like Apex Legends. While Apex Legends continues to maintain a strong player base, there’s chatter about a gradual decline in its momentum, and Ubisoft seems ready to fill that potential gap.
