Wildekin Brings Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing Vibes with a Survival Twist

Another cozy game is making its way to Steam, and this one might catch the attention of both Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing fans. Wildekin, developed by Cute Newt and set to launch in 2026 under publisher Chucklefish, is a 3D pixel-art adventure that mixes town building, exploration, and survival.

At first glance, the game feels familiar. Like Stardew Valley, you can design your home, expand your town, and build relationships with the locals. And like Animal Crossing, the entire world is populated by cute anthropomorphic animals who give the game its charm. But Wildekin sets itself apart with a stronger focus on exploration and adventure rather than farming.

The story involves traveling to different islands, battling enemies, and rescuing endangered members of your species. Survival elements also come into play, adding a fresh twist to the usual cozy formula. Players will be able to customize their look, craft items, decorate their homes, and even take on boss fights.

What makes it more exciting is that Wildekin supports online co-op for up to four players. Friends can explore together, share unlocked areas and items, and fight bosses as a team. However, relationships with townsfolk remain personal, so each player builds their own bonds separately.

With so many cozy life sims launching recently, like Ritual of Raven, Everdream Village, and Discounty, Wildekin faces tough competition. But with Chucklefish backing it (the same publisher behind the upcoming Witchbrook), the game might stand out as something more than just another Stardew or Animal Crossing copy.
