Good news for handheld gaming fans in the Philippines, but your wallet might need to prepare early.
Possible prices for the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handheld consoles have leaked online. According to gaming sites 3DJuegos and Insider Gaming, the prices appeared on Google, possibly from ASUS’ own website. The ROG Xbox Ally may cost around €599 (₱37,000+), while the Ally X could go up to €899 (₱55,000+). Take note, these are not yet official and might be placeholder prices, but it gives Pinoy gamers an idea of what to expect.
For comparison, the Steam Deck starts at around $400 (about ₱23,000), so the Ally devices are definitely more high-end. Still, many are excited because these handhelds will let users play games from Xbox Series X|S, but on the go, something mobile and console gamers in the PH have been dreaming of.
The devices were first shown at the Xbox Games Showcase last June, where Xbox president Sarah Bond revealed them to the public. Later on, Bond and AMD president Lisa Su announced that Xbox and AMD are teaming up to develop future gaming tech, consoles, cloud systems, and handhelds like this one.
While Xbox’s own handheld console was said to be canceled before, this ASUS partnership proves they’re still committed to portable gaming. The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are expected to launch worldwide during the 2025 holiday season, so by Christmas next year, they might land in PH stores, too.
