Minecraft Adds Copper Golem Statues and Shelf Blocks in New Beta Update

Minecraft players can now try out two cool new features in the Bedrock preview and beta versions of the game: Copper Golem Statues and Shelf Blocks. These features aim to help players get more organized, build creative designs, and even invent new redstone machines.

Copper Golems were already a fun addition, but now there’s more to explore. Over time, these golems will start to oxidize. When fully oxidized, they will stop moving, drop whatever they’re holding, and strike a pose, becoming a statue. These poses are not just for looks. They can send redstone signals, which players can use to make redstone contraptions. If you want your golem to stay active, you can wax it to stop the oxidation.

Shelf Blocks are another useful feature. Unlike regular chests, these shelves show the items they are storing. This means you won’t need to open different chests just to find something. They’re great for items you use often. You can also connect them to redstone, which turns them into “powered shelves.” With powered shelves, you can swap three items at once and even combine shelves to make longer setups. This makes it easier to quickly change tools or weapons based on what you want to do next.

These updates are currently only in Minecraft Bedrock beta and preview, but Mojang says they’ll come to the Java version later on. Players are encouraged to test them out and give feedback to help improve the features before the full release.
