Genshin Impact 5.8 Adds Summer Island Map and New Character Ineffa

Genshin Impact is bringing a splash of summer fun with its Version 5.8 update, set to arrive on July 30. Titled Sunspray Summer Resort, the update adds a permanent tropical map and introduces a brand-new character from the region of Nod-Krai.

Players can now explore the Easybreeze Holiday Resort, a colorful island off the coast of Natlan. This new area is packed with mini-games, secrets, and events. There’s even a cheerful mascot named Asha who helps players glide over water and spray-paint their way through puzzles. The resort may look fun and relaxing, but it hides the dark secrets of Mare Jivari, where the ancient monster Bakunawa awaits.

From July 17 to 31, Travelers can collect Sunspray Spirit by playing mini-games like guiding characters in “Travels Are Fuller With Friends,” joining music parties, and battling in “Strikers Through the Storm.” These rewards include a special 4-star Claymore called Flame-Forged Insight and a new outfit for Bennett.

The update also kicks off the first part of the Nod-Krai story with the debut of Ineffa, the game’s first character from the region. Ineffa is a 5-star Electro polearm user who can trigger a new reaction called Lunar-Charged, dealing extra damage when combined with Hydro. She can also summon a support unit named Birgitta during fights.

Alongside Ineffa, characters like Citlali, Mualani, and Chasca are also returning. Yelan is getting a new Fontaine-style outfit too, which is available for a limited time at a discount.

Version 5.8 also includes quality-of-life updates like auto-adjusting quest times, better tutorial videos, and smarter tracking for regional materials.
