Forza Horizon 6 Leak Hints at Possible Japan Setting

Listen to article

It looks like Forza Horizon 6 may finally be heading to Japan, if a recent leak is to be believed. Fans of the open-world racing series have been requesting this setting for years, and a now-deleted social media post has sparked new speculation.

The Forza Horizon franchise, developed by Playground Games, is known for recreating real-world countries as large driving playgrounds. Past games have taken players to locations like Colorado, France and Italy, Australia, Britain, and most recently Mexico. Each entry has highlighted the beauty and culture of its setting, but Japan has remained at the very top of fan wishlists.

The latest rumor comes from an Instagram post by Australian car importer Cult and Classic, which claimed to show Playground Games scanning Kei cars, including a Suzuki Every van, for the next Forza Horizon. Kei cars are closely tied to Japan’s car culture, which has led many to believe that the long-awaited Japanese map might finally be happening.

If true, Japan would provide an incredibly diverse backdrop for Forza Horizon 6. From neon-lit city streets and snowy mountains to scenic mountain passes (touges) and fast-paced freeways, the setting could offer plenty of variety. On top of that, Japan’s rich automotive culture, spanning Bosozoku bikes, stanced cars, RWB Porsches, and flashy custom Lamborghinis, would be a dream for racing game fans.

Still, this isn’t solid confirmation. Kei cars have appeared in Forza games before, so scanning them doesn’t necessarily prove the next entry will be set in Japan. Fans may need to wait until early 2026, possibly during an Xbox Developer Direct or the summer Xbox Games Showcase, to find out the truth.
