Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is getting a fun twist this late summer. Orbx Studios has teamed up with Universal Products & Experiences to bring a Jurassic World add-on called “Archipelago.” Players can explore islands filled with dinosaurs instead of plain runways and forests.

This new pack will arrive around the end of August or the start of September on PC via OrbxDirect and in the Xbox in-game store. It adds Isla Nublar and all five Muertes islands, complete with six small airports and twelve helipads. You will spot classic dinosaurs like T-rex, Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor, and even flying Dimorphodon. There is also a water area where you can see Mosasaurus in the bay near Herradura Marina. To make the world feel real, Juan Santamaría Airport in Costa Rica gets a fresh look too.

The Flight Simulator community is known for mods that turn the game into so many adventures. From camping trips to race tracks, players have tried it all. But mixing high-tech flight with Jurassic World’s giants is something new. Fans of both franchises may find this mash-up hard to resist. It could also bring new players to flight sims who want to see dinosaurs from the sky.

Looking ahead, Orbx Studios plans similar packs for the older Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane 12. And if you can’t get enough dinosaur action, mark your calendar for October 21, when Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Rumors also hint that Flight Simulator 2024 might land on PS5, giving even more pilots a chance to fly among prehistoric creatures.
