The NU Bulldogs from the Philippines have taken home the crown at the first Galaxy Gaming Academy x Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Campus Series 2025. This new tournament brought together student teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines to compete in Southeast Asia’s first intercountry MLBB campus event.

The grand finals ran from June 20 to 22 at Taman Anggrek Mall in Jakarta. After battling through qualifiers that involved over 1,000 teams, the NU Bulldogs proved their strength. They earned the US$18,000 top prize with smart plays, tight teamwork and quick decision making.

In second place the Faith Novus Bravehearts from Malaysia walked away with US$8,000. Indonesia’s VL Team claimed third and US$5,000. Coaches and fans praised all the teams for showing the high level of skill and strategy now common in campus esports.

Samsung’s Carl Nordenberg said the company aims to give students the tools they need to grow in competitive gaming. MOONTON Games’ Ray Ng added that the partnership shows a clear path for student gamers to enter the professional scene.

The event had three stages. Players signed up from March 15 to April 6. From April 7 to May 11 they played online qualifiers in each country, with Indonesia holding an extra offline round. The top two teams from each nation then met in Jakarta for the finals.

Samsung supplied Galaxy S25 Ultra phones to ensure smooth play and fast response times. Pro team reps from Dewa United, Onic, EVOS and Team Liquid also attended, scouting new talent and offering advice.

With this success, the Galaxy Gaming Academy x MLBB Campus Series sets a new standard for college esports in the region and offers a clear path from classroom to pro stage.
