Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and other Ubisoft games delayed

It was reported that Ubisoft’s game titled Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be pushed back from 2022-2023 to another released window of 2023-2024. Other games are reported to be also delayed while some will be canceled.

Based on the developer, they experienced a setback due to what they said are “ongoing constraints” which are said to affect the game development itself and the industry. Ubisoft said that they’re still committed to doing the James Cameron franchise which they branded as a “multi-year opportunity”.

Aside from the Avatar game, other games are also expected to face delays or imminent cancellations. Two of the unlucky titles that have been canceled are battle royale brawler Ghost Recon Frontline and Splinter Cell VR. Ubisoft is also said to have dropped already two unannounced games and has pushed back others from a release window of 2022-2023 to 2023-2024.

It was seen that this decision of Ubisoft was influenced by the dipping of the net bookings by 10% compared to last year despite having promising sales from the Assassin’s Creed series and Rainbow Six Siege in the first quarter.
