Nintendo has officially announced that the 3DS and Wii U online servers will end their services this year. In an official post in Nintendo's website, online play and communication will cease for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U on April 8, 2024. The Nintendo 3DS was officially launched back in 2011 whereas the Wii U was released back in 2012. A spin-off of the series, and an even larger world to explore, the Wii U game would be a perfect game to have ported to the Switch.
