Starting April 28 to May 2, Total War Shogun 2 will be free to keep. To add the game to your library, simply head over to the Total War Shogun 2 page on the Steam Store between April 28 and May 2, 1:00 AM (local time). Valve recently removed a game from Steam after discovering it was laced with malware designed to steal gamers’ sensitive data. Researchers found multiple samples of the malware embedded in PirateFi, including one uploaded to VirusTotal by a gamer in Russia, another identified through SteamDB, and a third located in a threat intelligence database. Valve has introduced a new feature on Steam designed to warn users about early access games that may have been left to rot. While Steam’s new warning won’t guarantee a game’s future, it will at least help players make more informed decisions before dropping cash on an unfinished product that may never see completion.
