Valve has announced the official launch of the Steam Deck on February 25. To recap, Valve has announced the Steam Deck handheld console in July 2021. In addition, the Steam Deck is advertised to have a 40Whr battery capable of 2 – 8 hours of gameplay charged via USB Type-C. The button layout of the Steam Deck includes A B X Y buttons, a D-pad, L & R analog, and bumper triggers, View & Menu buttons, two full-size analog sticks with capacitive touch, and four assignable grip buttons. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is officially Steam Deck Verified, ensuring that Valve’s handheld gaming PC will fully support the game when it launches on January 23, 2025. Steam Deck Owners Can Take FF7 Rebirth Anywhere The Steam Deck Verified status means that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has been tested and approved to run smoothly on the Steam Deck with minimal performance concerns. Valve’s verification process ensures that the game is fully functional with the Steam Deck’s controls, resolution, and performance settings. Square Enix also shared footage of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth running on the Steam Deck, showing a snippet of the early flashback sequence in Nibelheim.
