Today, Minecraft players from Android and Windows 10 can test the cross-platform beta update before the Better Together update hits Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile devices, and VR, which allows players on these platforms to be able to play alongside each other. Players who own a digital version of Minecraft can test the update by downloading Xbox Insider Hub. You can find the instructions on downloading the beta, as well as other information regarding the update, for Xbox One, Windows 10, and Android on Minecraft's official website. Nintendo just shocked the world yet again today by announcing the summer release of three new special edition New Nintendo 2DS XLs -- Animal Crossing, Minecraft, and Mario Kart 7. Lastly, a few weeks after the release of the other two on August 2, Nintendo Japan will open sales for the New Nintendo 2DS XL Minecraft Edition. The handheld will have Minecraft: Nintendo 3DS Edition pre-installed and comes with a special Creeper design. So, for now, the Animal Crossing one is exclusive to Japan and EU, and the Minecraft and Mario Kart are exclusive to Japan. Minecraft is now on its 10th year and to celebrate, the Classic version of the game is now playable for free on web browsers.
