NVIDIA has announced that they are launching RTX technology and features for 13 upcoming games for this year's Gamescom virtual event. Gamescom 2026 has officially wrapped up, and this year’s event in Cologne, Germany was packed with major reveals, long-awaited sequels, surprise announcements, and plenty of games for attendees to get their hands on. From the return of The Witcher 3 to new looks at Fable, Alien: Isolation 2, Gears of War: E-Day, and Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, Gamescom delivered plenty for both AAA and indie fans. With Gamescom 2026 now in the books, here are some of the biggest things that went down during the event. The Witcher 3 stole the show One of the biggest surprises of Gamescom 2026 came from CD Projekt Red, which announced a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt more than a decade after the original game launched. The Witcher 3's remaster and Songs of the Past won the gamescom award for Best Trailer / Announcement, while the game's booth also won the Jury Award for Best Booth. Alien: Isolation 2 brings back the terror Another major Gamescom highlight was Alien: Isolation 2, the long-awaited follow-up to Creative Assembly's 2014 survival-horror classic. The sequel also picked up the gamescom award for Best Audio, suggesting that the series' trademark use of sound and tension remains a major part of its appeal.
