You read that right: Fortnite is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The game is now available for purchase and download at the Nintendo Switch store. Fortnite fans on Nintendo platforms have something big to celebrate—Epic Games’ global hit is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 with a new and improved version launching day one alongside the console on June 5, 2025. Revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct: Switch 2 Edition, the upgraded port promises much-needed performance enhancements that could finally elevate the Fortnite experience on Nintendo hardware. The original Fortnite release for the Nintendo Switch, while wildly popular, has long suffered from performance issues. With improved specs like support for up to 120fps and 4K resolution in docked mode, the Nintendo Switch 2 opens the door for a much smoother and visually richer Fortnite experience.
