Netflix is bringing the world of Clash of Clans to life in a new animated series titled Clash. The show is currently in pre-production and will draw inspiration from both Clash of Clans and its spinoff Clash Royale, two of the most successful mobile games globally, boasting over 4 billion downloads and 180 billion hours of gameplay combined.
The series will follow a determined but overzealous Barbarian who must rally a band of misfits to defend their village and navigate the absurd politics of war. Fletcher Moules, known for directing official Clash of Clans animated shorts, will serve as showrunner. Ron Weiner, whose credits include 30 Rock and Silicon Valley, joins as head writer. Animation will be handled by Vancouver-based ICON Creative Studio, recognized for their work on Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures and Monsters at Work.
Curtis Lelash, Head of Film & TV at Supercell, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We’re thrilled to be working with Netflix and this creative team to bring the world of Clash to life. Think epic battles, immaculate Barbarian mustaches, and the kind of humor our players know and love.”
While no release date has been announced, the series aims to capture the humor and chaos that fans have come to expect from the Clash universe. This adaptation continues Netflix’s trend of bringing popular video games to the screen, following successes like Arcane and Castlevania.
