TNC Predator and Neon Esports Headline Day One of the Asia-Pacific Predator League 2020/21 Dota 2 APAC Grand Final

The Asia-Pacific Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final is officially back, and the first day was highlighted by victories from teams representing the Philippines.

TNC Predator and Neon Esports dominated their opponents Galaxy Racers and Team SOOS, respectively.

The first match was between Galaxy Racers from Malaysia and TNC Predator. Despite having the character IO and a hyper-aggressive playstyle in the early game, TNC’s patient counter-attack was able to prevail over Galaxy Racers, winning them the match.

For the second match, Neon Esports was able to carry their momentum from the Singapore Major as they quickly ran through Team SOOS. Though Team SOOS was able to ban Puck, Neon’s signature hero, they were still out drafted and outplayed from the beginning. Besides, Neon Esports did a good job in denying the top lane from Team SOOS, which led to John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas’ snowballed Bloodseeker.

In other matches, Indonesian team Boom Esports outclassed Team Star from Malaysia. Boom Esports’ midlaner, Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, had an easy landing phase which was complemented by the supporting presence of Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana and Brizio Adi “Hyde” Putra.

Vietnam’s 496 Gaming dominated the other representative from the Philippines, Reckoning Esports. They secured all three lanes, giving no space for Reckoning to bounce back.

Though Galaxy Racers, Team SOOS, Team Star, and Reckoning Esports lost, they still have a chance to salvage their tournament hopes given the tournament’s double-elimination format.

Matches are broadcasted on both Facebook and Twitch channels. You may also tune in to Predator’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages to be up to date with the remaining battles this April 7-11.
