NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Founders Edition Unboxing, First Impressions

It’s already been about a year and a half since NVIDIA released their first GeForce GTX 10 Series graphics cards based on the Pascal microarchitecture.

This late in the game, NVIDIA decided for some reason that there was a gap that needed to be filled, specifically the one between the GTX 1070 and 1080. Lo and behold, we have the GTX 1070 Ti.

The reason why it even exists is a topic for another day. For now, let’s just focus on the card itself. In anticipation of our full review, we present to you our unboxing and first impressions of the GTX 1070 Ti. Let’s begin.

The 1070 Ti comes in the same exact type of box we’ve come to know and love when it comes to Founders Edition cards.

Lifting up the rather large lid reveals the graphics card itself, protected by an antistatic bag. It fits very snugly into the tough foam padding to ensure protection.

Also inside the box is an envelope that contains a quick start guide, a support document, and a welcome letter that includes a case badge.

Nothing is really different in terms of looks when compared to the other high-end 10 Series Founders Edition graphics cards. It still has that really sleek and modern geometric design that extends all the way from the “1070 Ti” engraving to the rear exhaust.

It does come with an engraved backplate, which should make things a little bit nicer when put inside your case.

Being a reference card built by NVIDIA, there is no question that the overall build quality is very solid.

Here we have the 1070 Ti installed in our test setup, primed and ready for the benchmarks we will be throwing at it. Stay tuned for our full review to see how it fares.
