Gamescom 2026 has officially wrapped up, and this year’s event in Cologne, Germany was packed with major reveals, long-awaited sequels, surprise announcements, and plenty of games for attendees to get their hands on. From the return of The Witcher 3 to new looks at Fable, Alien: Isolation 2, Gears of War: E-Day, and Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, Gamescom delivered plenty for both AAA and indie fans. The Witcher 3 stole the show One of the biggest surprises of Gamescom 2026 came from CD Projekt Red, which announced a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt more than a decade after the original game launched. The Witcher 3's remaster and Songs of the Past won the gamescom award for Best Trailer / Announcement, while the game's booth also won the Jury Award for Best Booth. Meanwhile, Ubisoft surprised fans with the announcement of a Heroes of Might and Magic III remake, rebuilding the classic strategy game in 3D using the Snowdrop engine.
