The world of handheld gaming is full of innovative designs, but the N97 Elite from Sugar Cubes stands out for its retro-inspired look. Mimicking the classic Nokia N97 sliding cell phone from 2008, this compact gaming device combines nostalgia with modern emulation capabilities. Powered by the aging Snapdragon 855+ SoC, the N97 Elite isn’t built for high-end PC gaming but could hold its own in emulation. The device features a 4.7-inch display that slides up to reveal basic gaming controls, replacing the full keyboard found on the original Nokia N97. Despite its unique design, the N97 Elite has received mixed feedback. One device pushed us to track the whole market: the AYN Odin 3 Pro landed locally at ₱26,995 with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a price that sits right between budget Android units and premium Windows handhelds.
