The Golden Joystick Awards 2024 has wrapped up, and it was a night full of surprises and well-deserved accolades. Among the standout winners, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth and Helldivers 2 emerged as the big champions. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth won four awards, including Best Storytelling, Best Soundtrack, and Best Performances for lead and supporting characters, Cloud (Cody Christian) and Aerith (Briana White). On the other hand, Helldivers 2 also claimed three awards out of its five nominations, including Best Multiplayer Game, Best Game Trailer, and Console Game of the Year. It also bagged the prestigious Critics’ Choice Award.

Another major highlight was Black Myth: Wukong, which shocked the audience by clinching the Ultimate Game of the Year award—a monumental achievement for the debut studio, Game Science. The game also won Best Visual Design, marking a successful debut for the developer.

In the indie category, Balatro took home two awards, while other indie titles like Another Crab’s Treasure, Lethal Company, and Chained Together also claimed their share of accolades.
