Both games are now playable for everyone who has a subscription on Nintendo Switch Online. Developer Flagship—Capcom’s subsidiary—firstly released these spin-off games for the GameBoy Color in 2001. Then re-released on the Nintendo 3DS in May 2013 through its Virtual Console feature. About a decade later, these games finally made their way on the Switch.

In Oracle of Seasons, the General of Darkness, Onox, has trapped Din, the Oracle of Seasons, within his castle, resulting in a world thrown into chaos. Link must navigate through the land of Holodrum, stop Onox, save Din and restore order.

Meanwhile, in Oracle of Ages, Link is sent to Labrynna by the Triforce to find Nayru, the Oracle of Ages. Along the way, he encounters Impa, a servant of Princess Zelda, who leads him to Nayru.

However, Veran, the sorceress of evil, possesses Impa and uses Nayru’s body to travel back in time to change the present. Link must travel through time with the Harp of Ages, battle through nine dungeons, and save Nayru and the land of Labrynna.

By using a special password system, players can unlock a secret ending in Oracle of Ages that connects the storyline with Oracle of Seasons. The ending features two additional boss battles for players to conquer.

Nintendo recently released The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Switch, six years after the release of Breath of the Wild in 2017.
