Battlefield 2042 global launch on October 22

Electronic Arts Inc. and DICE has announced the global launch of Battlefield 2042 on October 22 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC.

According to EA, the game drops players into a near-future, all-out-war experience. It features matches filled with up to 128 players on the latest consoles and PCs. This scale adds a new dimension to multiplayer battles according to EA. In addition, Battlefield 2042 will include real-time events that reshape the battlefield and tactical combat.

Battlefield 2042 introduces the Specialist, a new type of playable soldier to the franchise. Specialists will be equipped with their own unique Specialist Trait and Specialty with fully customizable loadouts.

Other titles in the franchise, Battlefield 2042 includes:
All-Out Warfare:The next generation of fan-favorite modes Conquest and Breakthrough, featuring the large maps with dynamic weather and environmental hazards occupied by up to 128 players.
Hazard Zone: An all-new, high-stakes squad game that has a modern take on multiplayer experience that is distinctly DICE.
TO BE ANNOUNCED: The third experience that is being developed by DICE LA, is a game-type for the franchise. The experience is described as a ‘love letter’ to the Battlefield fans and one that long-time players will feel comfortable with. More to be discussed about this on EA Play Live on July 22.

Battlefield 2042 is available for pre-order and is set to launch on retail and digital storefronts on October 22 for USD 59.99 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and USD 69.99 on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. Moreover, EA Play members get a 10-hour trial starting October 15, 2021.

EA Play members and players who pre-order will receive early access to the Open Beta. Players who pre-order have three different editions to choose from, including the Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition for USD 89.99 on PC and USD 99.99 on console, or the Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition for USD 109.99 on PC or USD 119.99 on console.
