Google Project Stream lets you play AAA games on Chrome

Google has introduced Project Stream which lets you stream and play AAA games straight to your Chrome browser on a laptop or desktop.

Project Stream wants to push the limits of streaming technology by letting users play a graphically-rich game on the Chrome browser. This removes some hardware limitations and eliminates the need to download the game itself.

In this case, Google partnered with Ubisoft to stream their soon-to-be-released Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. From October 5, a limited number of participants will get to play the latest in this best-selling franchise at no charge for the duration of the Project Stream test. Check out the official gameplay capture below.

Those interested to participate may apply on Project Stream’s website here, however, it’s only available to users in the US. A 25Mbps connection is also required.

  1. This should be interesting to see. Although, it will probably feel like when you stream a PS4 game to your PS Vita. People shouldn’t expect graphical fidelity.

  2. When is this launching????
