EA announces video games with backward compatibility on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Series S

Electronic Arts recently announced to bring some of their video games on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S.

With backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S, gamers can play several EA games such as Star Wars: Squadrons, EA SPORTS UFC 4, NHL 21, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, Apex Legends, and The Sims 4.

For the Star Wars: Squadrons, it will be playable up to 1440p at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series S and up to 2160p at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X. Players may choose the performance mode for the Star Wars: Squadron, running the game up to 1440p at 120 FPS and up to 2160p at 120 FPS respectively. It also has an added Variable Refresh Rate on and off option for those with a TV supporting the feature.

Next-gen players of Apex Legends, meanwhile, will be playable son up to 1440p. It will also support cross-play capabilities across PC via Origin and Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

As for The Sims 4,  its base game and all of its packs, including Tiny Living, Eco Lifestyle, Nifty Knitting, and Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will be available on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 with faster loading times and smoother framerates, its upcoming 10th expansion pack, Snowy Escape, will be available on previous and next-generation gaming consoles.

The EA SPORTS titles for MMA, hockey, football, and soccer, will run on the next-generation gaming consoles just like its predecessors. Meanwhile,  those who purchase Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21  for Xbox One or PlayStation4 will get the next-generation version on December 4, 2020, for free.

Lastly, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will feature crossplay support and backward compatibility to next-generation consoles.
